Disney's Animated Classics going Live-Action

Post by Cloud on Mon Jul 06, 2015 7:56 am

Disney has done so many fantastic animated classics for a really long time.

Right now, Disney has the greatest technology to turn their animated classics into live-action adaptations.

Disney is currently working on live-action adaptations of The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan, Dumbo (Being directed by Tim Burton), and The Night on Bald Mountain (Animated sequence from Fantasia).

Also Angelina Jolie has talked about being back for a possible sequel to Maleficent (Based on the villain character from Sleeping Beauty).

What Disney Animated Classic would you like to see a live-action adaptation of?

As for me...

I would like to see live-action adaptations of Disney's Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio (That movie scared me as a child), Lilo & Stitch, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Treasure Planet (Basically based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic work but with a different feel to it).

Wow, really? Interesting. Razz Dunno if I like the idea of Winnie the Pooh being "live-action" somehow, but the others sound pretty cool.

Not really sure what I'd like to see done, but Treasure Planet would be really, really awesome in live-action. It was already an awesome movie.

Also, I wonder how they would pull off Bambi... Razz

@Arik: I do not think Bambi would get a live-action adaptation. That film would be pretty impossible to do because it is only involving animal characters just like The Lion King for instance. It has to have human characters involved.

I think they could do really good with a live action Treasure Planet. Sadly, I doubt they would, as they canceled a sequel they had planned to make due to bad box office sales of the first one. Sad

They actually did a pretty decent live-action Jungle book in the '90s (that had a sequel that was very different from the first one LOL)

@J-rd:
I seem to remember watching that. Don't remember the sequel, but I remember bits and pieces of the first. Razz

I think the only scene I specifically remember was when the boy was weeping over the presumably dead body of the bear. Razz

I only remember the scene in the very beginning...barely...with like a tiger or something?

Scare remembers all this stuff better, because I didn't pay much attention to anything when I was younger. Razz  Apparently...

No, it isn't that, sister: I just happen to have kept a journal in those days. As a matter of fact, I have ALWAYS been a very faithful chronicler of my entire life. As soon as I could read and write--nay, perhaps even before!--I was writing the story of my life for posterity.

Whooa, I bet Aladdin would be hard to make live-action. I mean, how could do you do that? O_o I'd be surprised if they could pull that off without messing it up. Razz

I didn't know they were making Jungle Book. I haven't even seen that in years. Razz
