Early Bionicle Concepts

Post by The Cracken on Fri Apr 24, 2015 3:19 am

Recently, Christian Faber, one of the co-creators of the BIONICLE theme and head artist/designer back in the day, has been posting various pieces of concept art, prototypes, and such from the early days of Bio on his blog. One of these is a series of videos taken on a camcorder way back when Bionicle was called "VooDoo Heads"......... Yeah. xD See what Bionicle was like before we knew it existed!

...Well, that's one thing I'm glad they ironed out properly. Razz

Though some of those models were kinda cool looking. I especially liked the motorized one at the end.

Man... those heads... yeah, those wouldn't have sold well.  Looks like there were a few solid designs like that one chomping things (That is almost exactly like on of the series 1 Rahi), the first figure with the hammer thing, and that remote controlled walker thing.

That's really neat. The name "Voodoo heads" though.... ROFL!

I think the chomping one was supposed to be a Muaka. I would've totally bought that. I used to always wish there were more Rahi sets.
