YUS CHRIS PRATT.

I'm seeing that purely for him. xD

Also Ultron, a group of college friends and I are going to have a total Marvel Marathon, in the universe's chronological order, during the two days before going to see the midnight premiere of Ultron. It should be pretty awesome. xD

Ultron, Ant-Man, Star Wars VII are obvious must-haves

Jurassic Word is looking amazing

Mockingjay Part 2. Part 1 was so amazing!

Mad Max looks like a lot of fun, as does Hitman. I mainly want Hitman to do well so that video game movies because an actualized thing, there have not been a lot of great ones.

Spectre is coming out, and you can't go wrong with Bond. Okay, you can, but Skyfall was incredible and this better follow up.

Tomorrowland looks like an interesting concept.

Other than that it's hard to say. There'll probably be more movies added to that list as I see them coming.

Um, I rather they did not make more live-action video game movies.  Mad Facepalm

Live-Action movies based on Video Games just are not fan approval. They are really bad, no offense.

I know this isn't really this year but "Sword Art Online" the movie which was just announced, which doesn't have any news on it besides them saying there will be a movie. I'm guessing it will be probably Summer 2016

Re: What Movies are you Excited for this Year?

Post by Not Em on Thu Oct 15, 2015 5:11 pm

Because this has been dug back up I'll give a few opinions on how the year's panned out so far:
Uh I think Kingsmen was the first I saw? Man that was a while ago. Excellent film, but highly inappropriate. Lots and lots of discretion required, but it really excells on a lot of points.
Age of Ultron: A lot of people have been railing on this film and I think a lot of that is due to how much was sadly cut. That said I loved it - Ultron was a big advancement from Loki, the character stuff was top-notch, and it was a pretty sweet film all in all.
Jurassic World: Fun fact, until this year I hadn't seen Jurassic Park. So before watching World I did that. PARK IS AMAZING. Also World was pretty fun. Not amazing, but a pretty nice nod.
Ant-Man: Super great. Manages to be both a superhero film and a heist movie without really feeling like too much of either. THE SCORE IS PERFECT.
Man From UNCLE: A tad underwhelming, but still a pretty sweet spy flick.
MI:5: No really, this was the year for spy movies. MI was good as always, and this one had some sweet stand-out moments.
The Martian: Really well done movie. Matt Damon is amazing as always. Also Donald Glover is in it. And Ejiofor. And everyone else. It's really good.

Non Movie Things:
Flash basically came out the past year. EXCELLENT SHOW. This is show is pure comic book and it's beautiful.
SHIELD gets better every day. The third season just started and seriously when did this show get so good.
Agent Carter was February! Really cool period piece. Looking forward to season 2
DAREDEVIL. Perfectly dark, gritty show. If you can't handle violence don't watch, but if you can this show does so many things right. And all the villains are amazing. I've never felt for villains like that before. A-Class show.
The last season came out this year so I'll list it - I binged through Community and it is hilarious and brilliant and Dan Harmon is a creative genius.

Movie I still need to see:
Mad Max. Like, seriously.
Everest looks pretty cool.
Mockingjay 2 will probably be alright? I'm kid of burnt out on Hunger Games, sadly.
Spectre is coming. James Bond has been getting better and better lately.
FLIPPING STAR WARS.

Other Notes:
PFFT. Fantastic Four. Dodged a bullet not seeing that one.
Marvel made their famous deal with Sony this year, allowing shared use of Spidey. Civil War is still coming, but I can bet this is going to be interesting.
The reboot really picked up again this year, not that it showed any signs of dying down. But Mad Max, Jurassic World and Star Wars all show signs that when done well, there's still a lot of interest.

Off topic, but there's a rumor that Sony has finally learned their lesson and sold their rights to FF back to Marvel and they've decided to focus more on X-Men, including two live-action tv series, one focusing on the Hellfire Club and I forget the other one.

The rumour was confirmed false, I believe, at least the selling out part. There has been some sort of deal where Marvel has been set to help produce a couple shows, but they sadly don't yet own FF.
