LEGO Star Wars 2014 Lineup

Post by The Cracken on Fri Dec 13, 2013 1:29 am

Hey guys! I've been browsing Brickset and found a bunch of the new 2014 SW sets. YAY I'm conflicted with the "microfighters".... they're cute and really odd at the same time. Razz

Clone Turbo Tank

AAT

Millennium Falcon

TIE Interceptor

X-Wing Fighter

Star Destroyer

Apparently we're getting new blasters that actually shoot, and spring-loaded lasers on ships rather than the classic lightsaber sticks. Shame. Razz It also appears that Episode III is getting a fair amount of love this year. xD

Death Star Troopers

Kashyyyk Troopers

Utapau Troopers

Battle on Saleucami

Jedi Interceptor

V-Wing Starfighter

General Grievous' Wheel Bike

Vulture Droid

Droid Gunship

AT-AP

Droid Tri-Fighter

Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon

Coruscant Police Gunship

The micro fighters... ehhh... The Millenium Falcon looks REALLY awkward... xD

Opinion on the Micro Fighters: A really poor attempt to put a spin on the mini sets.

New blasters that actually fire? Interesting idea, but they seem way too bulky. Depending on whether or not you can attach bricks onto the backs of them, I could see them making interesting rocket launchers, but they just seem too bulky to be pistols/rifles. xD

Jedi Interceptor... HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO RELEASE A SET WITH THAT SHIP?!

V-wing, Vulture Droid, Droid Gunship, AT-AP, Tri-Fighter... All of those have been released before, and these sets don't look very different from them at all. xD

I also THINK I've seen the Wheel Bike released before, and it wasn't too different from this one, but I'm not entirely positive on that one. But the others I actually own, so I KNOW that those have been released before, and didn't look much different from these "new" sets. Razz

That's what I thought when I saw the Jedi Interceptor. xD Most of these Ep III sets are almost exactly like the versions they've released in the past. Grievous' Wheel Bike was released at least once before, I own it. This new one is a lot more complex in build.

The new blasters appear to be very similar to the old megaphone/loudhailer-with-a-1x1x1-round-stud-on-the-end design, only instead said studs pop out? xD

I didn't already post this months ago? Oops. xD

So yeah, I saw these a while ago, and my thoughts haven't changed: It's a very meh line. I actually really like the idea of the microfighters.

I'll put more detail later, as well as get you some actually decent-quality pics. xD

The re-design of the Vulture Droid is pretty neat I think.

I think the Coruscant Gunship could've had more effort put into it though. Razz

*Looks at above comments and desides to do somethin' simpler like:*

I like the new clones, and I've seen a few or so of those sets remade before... Razz
What I'd love to know is how many times they remade the X-wing.

Apparently the better-res pictures I had were the same, just zoomed out. Woops. xD
