The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Post by Brickend on Mon Nov 04, 2013 2:50 pm

I finally saw The Hobbit the other night! After months of saying I would see it, I was able to take out two hours of my day to enjoy the epic, action-packed, and adventurous movie. Razz It was actually really good! (Looking forward to The Desolation of Smaug especially!) Started to get quite weary over half way through though. But definitely glad I finished it. Very Happy Anyway, just wondered what everyone else's thoughts, comments and the like were on this movie. Very Happy

Well when I was in the movie theater I was like
"WHAT... IT ENDED ALREADY? RIGHT HERE?! D:"

When I was at home (a week or so ago) I was like
"... this is so long... and... tiring... awesome, yeah... but tiring.."

Razz

I liked it and AM SIMPLY PUMPED FOR THE SEQUEL Hyper

Brickend,
LOL, yeah it IS a LONG film.Jawdrop   The special edition coming out tomorrow is even longer. If you're used to the lengthy LOTR films, it's not so tiresome, though. Razz
I'd say it was slow here and there, but I only thought it a bit tiresome somewhere in the beginning, where there was a lot of dialogue.  I grew up reading The Hobbit over and over again, so most of the film was wonderful to me: my childhood imaginations came to life. Razz
  I'm glad you liked it!

The sequel looks like a TON of action and suspense!  I'll probably be exhausted at the end of the film, because of so much running and tumbling and shouting and shooting and swiping and bumping and jumping. LOL

One of the piano players at the church worship band, Sam, and I, have been counting down to the extended edition. He's on of the few adult LOTR fans I know, and he is a FAN. When he went onstage with the rest of the band yesterday, before they started playing he pointed at me, got my attention, raised two fingers and mouthed "two days!" And we both fist-pumped. It was awesome. xD

Somehow that seemed relevant when I started but now it makes no sense. But I'm on my phone nd not about to backspace fiveminutes of typing. Razz

Z and Tak: Same here. Very Happy
Dalu:  Yeah, see, that's what I thought. (I actually failed to mention the first time I attempted to watch it I fell asleep at the beginning when all the dwarves come and they all are having their huge dialogue. Probably didn't help that I was exhausted in the first place. Razz)  I've never read the book, but now after seeing the movie, I think I just might have to. Razz
Yeah, the sequel is gonna be epic. Definitely going to probably be tired myself.

Supe: That's always fun and really cool. Razz I'm hoping to be one of those that goes crazy over some thing like that. Razz

Brickend,
ROFL!!!  I think my mum almost fell asleep in the theatre herself in that scene when we went to see it.
Yes! The book is wonderful, and much easier to read than LOTR.

The only one of my friends who saw the midnight premiere like I did fell asleep on and off during the entire thing, because she was dragged there by her youth group. She refused to comment on the movie because she felt she couldn't give a fair opinion, because she didn't remember any of it. Razz

My grandpa is a huge LOTR fan, and has all the special extended gold premium edition 2.0s, in nifty box thingies. You can't buy them anymore, they're priceless. He's going to get The Hobbit tomorrow from Walmart, ince I told him it came out today. Razz

Andy,
You mean the green, red, and blue boxes all done up in LOTR sketches and paintings?? Or were there others??

Do you know how long the extended Hobbit will be available?
