Minecraft Modifications

Post by NinjaMailman on Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:49 am

Ok, so lately I've been trying out different Minecraft mods and what they can do. So far I've only tried out the Aether Mod (a bit old Razz), Buildcraft, and several interface mods. Have you guys played any/made any?

Tekkit is, by far, my favorite mod, though only beating out the Aether mod by a slim margin. What makes Tekkit so amazing is that it comes with its own .exe launcher, so you don't have to mod Minecraft's files at all (which is great, because it can become really complicated really fast).

I personally prefer Feed the Beast, it has more mods AND the full approval of the mod developers. (Tekkit is TRYING to get permissions for the mods it used, but a fair number of mod developers are refusing because Tekkit didn't ask first. It's a whole complicated mess and everyone's taking it way too seriously, but long story short, FtB has and will have a large number of mods that Tekkit does not and will not have access to.)

Yeah the only problem with feed the beast is I can't get the stupid thing to download the mods, keeps failing on me... The technic launcher seems to deal with updates and downloads more easily and quickly.

Personally I play tekkit classic mostly, though I may move to voltz once I've finished up with tekkit.

On my minecraft.exe I tend you always install roadmod, toomanyitems and rei's minimap

Eh...Tekkit isn't that good. I love the Optifine and Sonic Ether's Unbelieveable Shader. It makes minecraft 10 times better.
