Sharks and Clowns

Post by Squid on Sun Aug 19, 2012 5:55 am

Brickfilms are creations of sorts, and this features a bunch of models anyway.
Here is my latest and arguable best film: Sharks and clowns.

Unlike most of my films, which will take something like a year, or several months, this took 18 days.
Besides really short mini films, this is the quickest I've ever done this.
I'm very happy to have created a film to rival Bank in such a short time.
Enjoy! Smile

ROFL!

That was amazing. xD The animation is so well-done, too.

Pixar does GCI animation, I do stop motion.
One day, I hope to write an direct my own films. For now I'll just be practicing with stuff of this sort, sending stuff to film festivals, trying to get some awards and be better known.

I'm aware of that, but CGI's nothing you couldn't learn. You've got a knack for this stuff. Very Happy

Congratulations on another fantastic new release, Squidy!

18 days! Unbelievable!

Of course, the downside is the lighting flicker. I saw your post about that on Bricks in Motion. That is strange...

The set never fell, but we know just a small few flames over, and a torch which I just propped back up.

The set was firmly secured to an I Am The Night set, giving it weight enough to not slide.

It took something like an hour for that shot, I had Wilson to help on flames, though.
They're very easy to animate since you just have to move them randomly.

Never heard of that.

I do have other references in here though, such as one to Star Wars, along with one for Slenderman.

Did you turn off the lights, keeping only the light under the flame on? When I do that, my camera focuses on the flames, not the guy, making it annoying to film. *eyeroll* Razz

I turned off the other lights in the room for the shot besides the torches.

You need to set your camera on manual focus so that you can adjust it yourself.
If you can't, then I feel for you.

@Squid: West Side Story is a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet; it's really good. You should watch it if you have time to. Very Happy

Finally got around to watching this. I like it! Razz

I liked so many things, but I'll point out that the stream of colored bricks behind the clown and the shark when they'd rapidly enter the scene was really clever.

What kind of camera do you have, Squid?

Thanks. LOL
