Dino's bridge-crew

Post by dino27 on Sat Jul 21, 2012 11:59 am

NOTICE! THIS TOPIC CONTAINS MILD CHARACTER BIO/INTERACTION SPOILERS FROM "THE SCARS OF WAR" IF YOU WOULD RATHER FIND THIS STUFF OUT IN THE (upcoming, I haven't started working on it yet Razz ) STORY, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS! THANK YOU! (This does not give away if/how situations resolve, or what happens in the story, beyond telling about who gets along and who doesn't, this should NOT ruin the story for you, it just gives you a behind the scenes look at the characters, a "preview" if you will. Still if you prefer learning about the people as the story progresses.)

SECOND NOTICE! This is a work in progress, things could change, this is an IDEA STAGE character bio chart thingy, I am likely going to start from scratch on TSoW (The Scars of War) as I've learned a decent bit about writing, which should (hopefully! Razz ) make it easier/more fun for you to read.

Samuel

Species: Human.

Position: Chief of Security.

Home Location: Earth, Africa.

Appearance: 6 foot 4, dark skinned, powerfully built man with short black hair.

Bio: One time sports fighter, now a cyborg and tactical genius.

Age: 45.

Weapons: Explosives, Isomagnetic Disintergrator, Photon Grenades, CRM-114, TR-116, Phaser rifle and pistol.

Personality:
Withdrawn, not great with most other people, he is better at planning
than talking. He is a born leader when it comes to the idea part, but he
oftentimes comes off as "intimidating" or "unfeeling" when he is
actually a very kind and caring person. He takes is position seriously.
He is tough, yet calm and cool.

Character Interaction: He gets
along well with Katie, Norvock, and myself. He tolerates Walter, though
he finds him somewhat bossy and annoying. He does not like or want Kraig
Haris, or Jayson around, though he puts up with them as long as I do.
He obeys Tyron Neil out of a sense a of duty, though he would not chose
him as his superior officer or even as another member of the crew.

Katie (haven't chosen what it's short for yet, I want to avoid sounding too much like Janeway)

Species: Human.

Position: Helmswomen, unofficially ship's counselor.

Home Location Earth, Japan.

Appearance: 5 foot 4 inches in heels, slender build, long straight black hair. Very fair skinned.

Bio:
A young lady with aspirations of helping others get through their
problems, she knows what she thinks about things and she isn't afraid to
say so. Tough, resourceful, but still inexperienced compared to older
crew. She hopes to become an officially trained counselor.

Age: 17.

Weapons:
Dual Tritanium Katanas (with an outer layer of Ablative Armor on the
blade to allow some blocking of slower moving energy attacks) and a
Phaser pistol, martial arts.

Personality: A spirited young lady
with plans to do big things in her life. She is a bit hot headed, but
she has a strong sense of right and wrong. This can get her into trouble
for disobedience, not to me, but to certain other persons on my ship.

Character
Interaction: She is good friends with Samuel, Walter and Myself. She
can work with Norvock though they are somewhat different. She has
trouble obeying the commands on Tyron Neil, not to mention staying in
the same room as him. She detests the way Kraig Haris treats Walter, and
she is contantly annoyed by Jayson and plans to teach him a thing or
two about respect, duty, and honor.

Tyron Neil

Species: Human.

Position: Second in command.

Home: Location: TBD, possibly Earth's moon, ancestors from US.

Appearance: 6 foot 2, muscular, blonde hair and blue eyes, fair skinned.

Bio:
A onetime Star Fleet officer transferred to the PCG as part of an
officer exchange program. He is proud and does things by the book (which
he has memorized) he reminded me of myself from right after the
academy.

Age: 32

Weapons: phaser rifle and pistol.

Personality:
A brash, dashing, successful Star Fleet officer. Tyron knows the books
by heart and will happily recite them to everyone around him when they
aren't done perfectly.

Character Interaction: He considers most
of the crew a bunch of sloppy Star Fleet rejects who need to learn ten
thousand lessons just to have any hope of being presentable. Although he
is well spoken, his pride and bad attitude get him into trouble. He
does not get along with me at all, I can't stand him and will probably
throw him off my ship first chance I can legally do it. He finds Katie
and Walter to be insubordinate brats, and is not pleased with Jason's
behavior and lack of respect for the entire system of space going
cruisers. He is willing to work with Samuel as he is a good officer who
obeys his commands and stays pretty close to the book most of the time.
Although he considers Walter to be a life form with rights, he refuses
to stand up for him as he finds him annoying and he likes Kraig Haris
because he does things by the book as best he knows how, and Walter
doesn't.

Walter (no last name)

Species: Emergency Medical Hologram MK-1 (heavily upgraded/modified) designed after humans.

Position: Chief Medical officer.

Home Location: P.C.G. York (previously at a TBD location working in some slave like way for Star Fleet)

Appearance: 5 foot 9, fair skinned, dark brown eyes, fall head of thick black hair, otherwise the same as EMH MK-I

Bio:
A slave to the corruption of Star Fleet, he desired his freedom, and as
I needed a chief medical officer with experience, and I wanted to show
the Federation that Holograms are more than just computer programs, I
"purchased" him and granted him his freedom. He chose to stay on. We
modified him following some of the methods used by Voyager (and a few
new ones) to bring him up to date/learn modern medical info, and on his
insistence on having hair, we gave it to him.

Age Unknown,
however old the EMH MK-I is. (probably over a hundred standard earth
years. Thus making him the oldest, most expired member of the crew)

Weapons: phaser pistol, hypo.

Personality:
A bit haughty, a bit proud, a bit sarcastic, a bit talk back-ish, but a
wise and experienced doctor nonetheless. He might grumble or complain,
but he cares a great deal about his patients.

Character
Interaction: He is friends with Katie and myself, but is misunderstood
by the rest of the crew. He is standoffish and a bit of a know it all,
in a large part because he was forced to work for decades in dirty,
dangerous work that no one else wanted to do. He had no choice, and was
nothing more than a slave, so he has mental scares from that. He doesn't
like Star Fleet and resents what they did to him. He will treat any
person who needs it, and tries to get along with Kraig Haris, but he
relentlessly defies his orders, mocks him, and refuses to work with him.
He tolerates Jayson considering him to be a brat in need of training.
He has to work under Tyron Neil. He does not like the man, as he reminds
him so much of Star Fleet. He tolerates the rest of the crew, though he
often has a remark that isn't wanted, but is probably true.

Kraig Haris

Species: Human

Position: Junior Medical Officer

Home Location: a TBD Federation starbase

Appearance: TBD

Bio:
A medical student in training as part of the Federation Crew Exchange.
He doesn't believe that Walter is should have the rights of an
intelligent life form, he sees him as knowledgeably and nothing more. He
considers him to be outdated, and inferior to himself. He does not want
to talk orders from a "machine" and openly argues with Walter's orders.

Age: 19-22

Weapons: phaser pistol, hypo.

Personality: Brash, haughty, rude, a real pest.

Character
Interaction: He does not get along with Walter at all, often mocking
him defying his orders, and making a general pain of himself. He has
hopes of becoming a great doctor, and isn't interested in working with
an "inferior machine" He does not get along well with a lot of the crew
as he has yet to learn respect. He likes Tyron as he is a success in the
Federation, which he admires very much. He can't stand Katie or Jayson,
considering both to be childish brats who need to learn to respect the
system.

Norvock

Species: Vulcan.

Position: Chief of Engineering.

Home Location: Vulcan.

Appearance: 6 foot 1, average build, black hair, brown eyes, fair skin.

Bio:
A typical Vulcan, he knows this ship better than the people who built
it, and he knows how to keep it running even after suffering extreme
damage.

Age: TBD, mid thirties by human standards.

Weapons: phaser pistol and rifle, TR-116, natural Vulcan abilities.

Personality: Withdrawn, logical, practical, a true Vulcan.

Character
Interaction: He gets alone well with Samuel, and myself, his only real
friends on this ship. He is willing to work with Tyron as the commands
he gives are logical, and as he has no emotions, he isn't interested in
his problems. He tolerates Katie, though he finds her talkativeness
annoying. He considers Jayson to be a pain that he doesn't have to
bother with as the work on opposite ends of the ship. He does not
particularly like Walter as he finds him annoying, though he works with
him when he must. I disagrees with Kraig's treatment of Walter, but does
not consider it his duty to change it.

Jayson (name could be changed, )

Species: currently human, could be changed to some other federation member species

Position: Sensor array guy Razz (better name needed) lowest ranked member of named crew.

Home Location: TBD.

Appearance: TBD.

Bio:
The son of an important Federation Admiral, he was sent here to be
hidden as he was a failure and a disgrace to a long family line of
important federation crews. The only reason I don't have him fired out
of one of the torpedo tubes (just joking) is because of the already
strained relations between the PCG and Federation. He is completely
inexperienced, and he holds his position in name only, though he does
call out what he sees coming on sensors, he isn't one of the guys I call
to bridge crew meetings if I can possibly help it. He has a lot to
learn about working on a starship (and working at all) and I dream of a
day that I can transfer him to janitorial duty.

Age: 16-18

Personality:
A bright young man, he is rather lazy, fearful, and uninterested in the
whole "fly around in space doing work" thing.

Character
Interaction: He doesn't get along with anyone. Most tolerate his
actions, but Katie often takes action trying to get him to grow up. He
doesn't get along with me very well.

Constructive feedback is welcome, thank you for reading! Very Happy

Is this only for PCG members, or are we enemies supposed to put Bios also?

Nice character bios, Dino! It adds more spice and flavor to your side of the PCG. Wink I hope to see these characters in a new story of some sort!

BTW, I have devised a new format for documenting your starships and it has been so successful that I have decided to go ahead and complete the entire project before I send you an email. I assume that's alright? Anyhow, I'm calling the project, "The Career and Works of Captain Dino of the PCG, as Compiled by His Devoted Friend, Commander Scarecrow" Very Happy

Thanks Scare! I'm glad you like them! And yes, I WILL (I plan to, grace of God allowing of course) be using these characters in at LEAST one (pretty long) story, and many of them will VERY LIKELY appear in other, later stories as well.

Hey, whatever works for you, thanks again for doing that! Call it whatever you like, I'm all for it, I'm just glad that I don't have to do it! Razz Your project, your name/system. (Besides, you know what you're doing)

Man... only one person has responded to this, maybe most people don't like spoilers? Razz
