I drew a doodle. I had fun. :3

Spoiler:

Sorry about the bad lighting. I took the picture at a strange-ish angle at like 8 PM with the assistance of two yellow-lightbulbed lamps. It came out kinda....yellow. Oh well, at least it's better than my scanner. Razz

Kewl.

It's art like yours that makes me wish I had never stopped drawing when I was young.

MAYBE I COULD'VE AMOUNTED TO SOMETHING.
You should do a step by step post, one time. I'd like to see how it pieces together. Razz

I made another doodle. I ended up liking the character from my last drawing so I decided to make her the subject of this one too. This and my last drawing are for my art class. :33

EDIT: The first one wasn't working for some reason. You can just look at the second one. Razz

The point of these drawings is to loosen up poses to make them look less stiff. I'm not sure how much I succeeded, but it's probs progress. Razz

Dang, I forgot to make a step by step. I'll try to remember next time. Sorry guyse. DDD:

Please, for my sake, ignore all the flaming anatomy issues. I'm trying my best here. D:

EDIT2: I went all OCD mode and decided I liked this drawing and wanted to make it better. I think I fixed a few things with the angle and the proportions. Here's the revised one! :DD

Well, I really like the second pic--so much detail and so much emotion in her face!

However, the first pic must have been taken out, because it's not registering. Razz

Btw, I just saw your dino sketch. It's just....wow....EXTREMELY good. :DLove it! THe detail and shadowing and intensity are amazing!

Re: Chicken Doodle Soup

Post by Moe Howahd on Tue Jul 29, 2014 2:46 am

Hai everyone, I'm back with a doodle that is more on the side of doodles this time, surprising enough. Razz

Spoiler:

It was a quick drawing with less attention to detail and linework and more to the poses. I'm still pretty bad at posing, so I hope I learned something here. If nothing else, I got some much needed hand practice.

-------

General apologies for my inactivity, as is the norm with every one of my posts. Razz

Excuse to follow:

Razz

Manga, the style in which I love and draw/drew most, though great fun to draw, is popular. It's not that I'm trying to pull the hipster card, it's just that is so thunderingly overproduced that any and all originality has long been sucked clean off its oversized face. This makes me sad in ways that I cannot explain.

Recently, I've been trying to deviate from the herd. I've been studying drawings both in and outside of what can be called "manga," taking the parts of both that I like and stitching them all together like a frankenstein. So far, the results of most of my trials have been all so straight up, down right, and flat out horrific that I have not bothered to put them up anywhere. Eventually I got frustrated and made this one because it's closer to the style of manga and I knew I could. Razz

Cheers. Suspect

I love this drawing. Be world's best illustrator please.

Really though, I can't tell from how you described it if this is part of your deviate-from-manga project but that's definitely what it looks like and it worked pretty great. It comes across as definitely manga inspired but far enough from manga to stand out and be fun to look at.

I know you said you paid less attention to details and lines, but honestly I think the detail's great, and I think this reduced amount of detail makes the characters seem more alive and better viewed as a whole.

Basically I liked this enough to comment on it instead of going to pick you up. ;p

Okay so I'm still on the search for a personal style that I can call my own. Currently that style is looking somewhere between the mangas and some sort of graphic novel thing. I'm not entirely sure where it's going, but I did a quick-ish line sketch to update you guys on my progress. :DD
