Wow, thanks for commenting, everyone!  I took note of each suggestion.  I especially noticed the extra shadowing needed to define certain areas, Fuego.  And I also noticed the need for a better-defined ankle.
I really appreciate the suggestions!  So helpful! Very Happy

LOLz, well, I'm glad it at least favoured ONE of the Bilbo's. Razz

Coming up, a portrait of the younger Bilbo. Wink

Btw, Ellie, YES!  I was just thinking about wanting to see your drawings a couple days ago! Very Happy

ART POST:
Okay, so here's the portrait of Bilbo. I was going to tell you what not to notice, but you'd notice it because I told you that, so I'll wait until after you've seen the pic. Razz

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Okay, what I was going to tell you to try not to notice was his lips. Razz  So you're going back and noticing them if you haven't already, arent' you? Ah, well. Razz Anyway, the lips are currently the worst part of every portrait I undertake: extremely hard to make them look real and not cartoon.  I tried a different light effect approach this time for the whole pic, including his lips, but I'm sure that made them look even worse.  Razz

My mum and Scare tell me it looks like Bilbo, but not QUITE like him. Razz LOL I'm going to keep sketching him so it looks more and more like him.

Comments, suggestions, criticism, as usual, please! Very Happy

Btw, that pic was based off a screenshot I took for TBFA's first trailer.

AWESOME KAYLU!!! Very Happy You are such a talented artist with animals and fantasy, I can tell!

I've been pretty busy lately with my college stuff in which I do not have time to draw artwork. Sad Also I am trying to write a current story for my very first publishable idea I could turn into a Video Game.

Mouse:
Thanks!  Yeah, the eyes are definitely hard.  I haven't reached perfection by any means, but it's fun working on the eyes: they bring so much expression to the character, and emotion. : D

Joey,
  Thanks!
Sorry that you haven't had time to draw, but at least you're using still using your creative energies. Wink

Danke, Tak!

ART POST:
Okay, I just did this for giggles last night.  I was reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and looking at the Pauline Baynes (or Baines, or whatever Razz)  pictures in the book and suddenly got hte whim to draw a girl based on the film Narnia's Lucy, drawn sort of like Baynes drew her characters.
It's rather 2D-looking, I know and not all the proportions are right.  The ground's 2D-ness was intentional, because I'm lazy and I didn't want to bother drawing grass everywhere. Razz  But I would like suggestions and help with the girl herself! Very Happy
GIMP-cartoon effect used to darken lines, btw.

You really must love chickens! Razz Very Happy Nice work!

Maybe once my semester gets done and go on a really long vacation I will see about working my butt off on a really big project from outside of my college.

I am planning to do an Online Animated series of my Manga/Anime stories.

It will almost take me nearly years to work on this big project.

Mouse,
Thanks!  I mainly use pencils.  I've got several different types of pencils, though, like HB, B, F, 6B, etc, so I can produce different effects.  That one was just drawn with two pencils.  Most of it was drawn with B (I think) and then a finer tipped pencil for the eye details. Wink

Joe,
Yep, I love our chickens like pets. Very Happy
Good luck on your vacation project!

Ellie,
  You're teasing me again, right?

Tak,
Thanks! LOL, my cursive actually isn't very good; I've let it get pretty sloppy, so I was surprised the letters in that one turned out that well. Razz

Very cool! I love the chicken drawing Wink

As for the girl, the main thing I'd add/change, is, on her elbows, maybe add some wrinkles from her coat, and on her elbow that sticks out, I'd pronounce around it to show where it is. Gives it more depth?

Only other thing I can think of is maybe change her feed around? Idk if that is how they are in the pic or not. Probs just me.

Neenja,
  Thanks, chap! Very Happy

Kayla,
Ah, yeah, the elbows. I'm horrible at those. Sad  Thanks for suggesting wrinkles on the jacket to add more depth. Any other detailed suggestions on how to to elbows right?
Hm, yeah, the feet do look a bit odd; but I think that's probably because I have them pointed so drastically. IRL, most of the time our feet are more forward, a fact I failed to depict in the pic.
Thanks for your comments, Kayla! I need 'em!

Well, the only thing I can think of to help define teh elbows, is shading. Like around where the point of the elbow is, leave that lighter then the rest of the jacket maybe?
Happy to help Smile

Okay, first sword sketch! Very Happy  Unless I change my mind, Glamdring and Orcrist are next in the line.

GIMP added to bring out the lines, as usual.

Spoiler:

EDIT:

Here's the picture I drew it from.  Courtesy of the Noble Collection.

Spoiler:

It started out as a preliminary sketch of Sting's handle and sort of became a little more elaborate. Razz I might draw a bigger sketch of the full sword some day.
  Anyway, comments, criticism! Very Happy

Do you have any french curves or a clear ruler to draw straight lines? Other than that, this is flawless! Nice job! Very Happy Looks like the sword that King Arthur pulls out of the stone. Razz
