OK, so to get started, basically, you show up. Your quarters are all on Deck 5 (I think it's 5, anyway), and you're a cadet fresh out of the Federation Academy on Earth. Part of your final classes at the Academy involves training aboard an active starship; in this case, the Nebula-class U.S.S. Nuparu. The PCG has not yet been formed; the newly-minted Captain Flipz and his crew have been assigned to investigate gaseous anomalies in the Regula Badlands, near the Romulan border. It's a routine mission for a new captain, something that will let him get to know his crew before the real missions start. (I think we all know how well that's going to turn out. Razz) If you want, you can show up in Main Engineering to help repair the damage there (there was recently a Red Alert shipwide due to the accident, and word spreads fast around the ship), or you can show up at your duty station for training. (If you're Security, you'll want to go to Engineering; LCDR Pavlov, head of Security, is currently in Sickbay, being held by Dr. McFadden overnight.)

I'll try to post some more background info soon. Wink

OK, a rough summary of what's on which deck of the Nuparu:
Deck 1: Bridge
Deck 2: Senior Crew Quarters
Deck 3: Cadet (player) quarters
Deck 4: Main Transporter Room
Deck 5: Main Security (aft section)
Deck 7: Teaching areas and child care
Deck 8: Sickbay
Deck 10: Main Holodecks (the forward one is currently running a 24/7 simulation of Twelve-Forward
Deck 12: "Twelve-Forward" main lounge (closed for repairs after barfight)
Deck 13: Main Engineering

Alright, now that my Internet is fixed, PCG Brave New Souls can resume! I still need to sync everything up, plus I'm putting the finishing touches on a stat system that should fix some challenges I've had over at MLNO. In the meantime, though, feel free to jump back in to the action (or lack thereof Razz )!

OK, in the next few months, I'll be replacing a lot of the first-post info with a condensed version that will work better with the stat system. I'd like you guys' opinion on whether or not you want to deal with stats; if you'd rather just do straight-up roleplay, that's fine, I can have the stats behind-the-scenes and only come into play when absolutely needed (i.e. when interacting with the RPG on another site I hope to release BNS on soon).

Edit: I would prefer a pure role-play, but if you do stats you should keep it simple and non-intrusive.

That's the intention, but considering your pseudo-NPC status for your "main" character, stats are irrelevant for that one anyway. Razz

(To clarify and set as official policy, if you transfer/import your Creation Lab PCG character to BNS, your gameplay will be, by necessity, pure roleplay; this is to maintain continuity with the main PCG-verse.)

Yeah, and since my character pretty much will be rogue during the main story line, I'll probably either just show up randomly or maybe DM a mini-campaign that would shed some light on Dragon Fleet special projects or something.

Let's see, that makes, what, three current and former Council members who were on the Nuparu during the Phoenix Incident? Laughing and here I thought Flipz was going to end up as a Mary Sue in this. Razz

EDIT: No, wait, four: Me, you, Kojan, and Jared. Jared's the only one who said he was ther before the RPG, tho. Razz

(Yeah, I'm double-posting, it's my RPG so I get to do that. Razz )

For those who are looking for the other location of Brave New Souls, it's here:

I also plan to release a branch on Eurobricks, for the AFOLs and soon-to-be-AFOLs out there. Wink

Apologies for the delay, I have a few real-world things to deal with before I start the next major action. I should have things up either later on Wednesday, or else on Thursday or Friday. Wink

So when is it going to start up again? It's been a while since Friday. Razz And what did you mean by Jared being on the Naparu?

Yeah, I had a family road trip, and then college prep and actual college went all NOM NOM NOM with my time. Crazy stuff. BNS is basically on hold until I have free time, which is pretty much not until school lets out for the semester. :-/

We are, I just have to find the physical notebook that has the next story post in it, and then I have to see if I can find my digital notes. Expect something within the next week or two. Wink

Considering how something like that ^ goes for anyone, I will translate:

Expect one of three things. 1. I will find my notes in the next four months, jsut in time to leave for summer again. 2. I'll just start over on something similar. 3. I'll just keep saying I'll get around to it and it'll never happen. Razz
